Waves - so we went a wee road trip, you will have followed our progress if you follow the Instagram account, if not click here for a wee nosey.
Despite it being really cold and feeling miserable I did manage to get a few books read so catching up on reviews. We also had a nice walk, sea view is just lovely the pictures don't do it justice and there are a fair few abandoned buildings I kept thinking a few of my fave authors would get a great story out of some of them.
So, to the giveaway. I had put a poll up on Twitter to see if folk would prefer a Harry Potter themed giveaway or just a normal bookish one, Harry P won hands down. I had initially wanted to do something with one item from each house, however it is the 23rd of November and some items have failed to show. So the giveaway is now as follows, one golden snitch chain, the middle flips open to reveal a clock. One pair of slippers, from Primark, size 6-8, these are super soft, I bought a wee pair for myself and love them (featured on my insta) the soles read Harry Potter. And one beanie style hat that had the Gryffindor logo, all as pictured below.

Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteI also love old buildings and I also think about the literary possibilities when I am in them.
Brian I could spend all day in abandoned buildings, however the book I am reading just now makes me reconsider that :D xxx

ReplyDeleteI love the films!
ReplyDeleteMy 18 year old son loves Harry so for many years we have watched films read books bought merchandise, been to Warner studios so Mr Potter is part of our family life !!
ReplyDeletethe costumes- timeless fancy dress for ever!
ReplyDeleteMust admit the whole story is my favourite, but love the idea that the owls bring the mail. Wish they would bring ours, sure Royal Mail employs snails at times (one Christmas card arrived 2 years later - not sure where it had been in the meantime). Oh and Professor Snape was my favourite character in the films, Alan Rickman was the perfect choice for that role.
ReplyDeleteI like hagrid
ReplyDeleteI love everything about Harry Potter - I can remember the first time I read Harry Potter Book - It was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and I remember walking around my Grandads back garden with my head buried in it - only this morning (about 15 years later) I was on the couch with my 2 year old who was really re-reading Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone!
ReplyDeleteI don't think that I am alone in saying there are no words as to how amazing the whole story is from start to finish. I was shopping yesterday for my 12 year old who has (FINALLY) discovered the wonder that is HP, and we were looking at different HP items for her and I was quoting Harry Potter lines to my partner and he could not understand the obsession - I was disgusted with him :)
I love losing myself in the magic of the books
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that you can lost in the wizarding world and you can relate to the characters. My favourite Character is Remus Lupin.
